  1. Is there a way you can forward me the parts and plans for your WE modification ? I looked on one website you mentioned but it told me it was no longer available. Thanks for your help!

  2. When you mount the WEPS on the panda vise, what is the shaft from the aluminum plate and how does it attach to the plate and the panavise?

  3. I never get into writing reviews, or make commentaries about services/purchases I find on line. That being said, this makes me a liar. I honestly think that Josh is great to work with, whether you’re knowledgeable, or a ‘newb’ to the world of knives, he can handle whatever it is you need sharpening done on. I must’ve had 8-9 knives done, all custom grinds with different edges, within the last two weeks. All my knive are all expensive tactical folding knives that deserve carefully done sharpening, That, can either make them more beautiful, or ruin them. Josh did an amazing job on all of them, be it just a simple re-sharpening, or a custom re-grind with a variety of edges. I’ve dealt with factory re-sharpening, which is fine if you want to be without your knife for 8 weeks, or have done “adequate” sharpening myself. You’d have to be crazy to not use Josh, and see the great work he does. Turn around time was less than a week, and done exactly to your specifications. Give Josh a shot, and throw out your own sharpening ‘stuff’. He makes them all obsolete!

  4. I’ve had Josh sharpen over 35 high end folders and some fixed blade knives. I’ve used many sharpening methods and other sharpening services in the past.
His work is beyond excellent. He has sharpened, reground, and put mirror finishes on my knives. The work is so good it’s almost a crime to use the knives!
They come back so sharp and beautiful it makes you want to display and show them off.
His prices are fair and his return time is fast.
I highly recommend using his services to keep your knives super sharp and if you want a knife to show off, send him some to mirror finish. You’ll amaze your fellow knife nut friends.
And finally, this young man is a hard-working, honorable family man. A true American success story.

  5. As a repeat customer I am always amazed at the sharpness, price, and quick turnaround time of REK.
I looked up the definition of “scary sharp” in the dictionary but instead of words, there was a picture of Josh.
Thanks again and keep up the excellent work!

  6. I have a cold steel espada medium and its so used and the tip was taken off and I had it fixed but mom so disappointed in the edge I was left after. I’d like to send pics and get your thoughts on what could be done within my budget…

  7. josh-i have a 8″ concealed sword/cane that has no sharp edge on it and would like to know what to expect as to cost in having a servicable cutting edge put on it.the sword is double edged.and where are you located?i am in anderson.thanks

    • Hey Richard, cost on sword sharpening is listed on the sharpening prices page under “services and fees”. Also, I only accept work through the mail at this time. Thanks!

  8. I have a 599 FOX Karambit Black G10 Fighting Knife Emerson Wave and looking for some one to sharpen it. Do you work on this type of knife? Thank you for your time

  9. If you want to bring your knife to its pinnacle performance, then bring it to Josh. I’m not going to tarnish any brand names but I purchase my knives from some major brand name knife companies. You would think that they would make their knives just as sharp as Josh makes them. Unfortunately that’s not the case I always have to bring them to Josh to make them excellent as he always does. I’ve finally found a company that can sharpen knives as they were meant to be. Spread the word!!

  10. I have a cold steel recon 1 tanto, if I sent it in and told you guys to just do some wicked mod to it would that be a possibility? I don’t know what I want done but I trust your style and judgement, just not liking how it looks now I do know I want a mirror edge on it though.

    • Sure, I can get it in hand then we can discuss options if you wish… Thanks for the great question!

  11. Josh always does a great job and has resurrected from dullness and missharpening an XM-18, Dozier folder, Para II S90v, and a Brous Blades custom Silent Soldier. He is honest and never does more than is needed on a knife. What is more, Josh gets your knife done fast and always gets back to you in a timely manner.

    Thanks, Josh!

  12. I just got back two new folding knives I sent to Josh for sharpening. He does awesome work and is a pleasure to deal with.

  13. Hi

Like what you did with the Osborne red cerakote blade? How durable is the cerakote? Mostly for lite or heavy use? I’ve got a Brous Blades Raven (blackout) version coming and was thinking of having the blade red cerakoted. Let me know what you think.

    • Cerakote is one of the most durable paints on the market and does holds up great for light to medium use. If you will be using heavy (cutting wire, batonning through wood, scraping steel, etc) then you would be best off leaving the blade bare metal. I think it would look really good with the blade and certain hardware in Crimson Red with the rest blacked out, would accent it nicely. Thanks!

  14. Josh does amazing work. I had him acid etch stone wash (ESW) the blade of my Medford TFF-1 and sharpen it on the wicked edge…it’s now one wicked razor sharp beast. The cerakote and sandblast work was also flawless. Thanks Josh.
    HIGHLY recommended.

  15. Great Job Josh on my CQC-7 tanto to a plain blade regrind glad to see it pictured in your Gallery! Thanks again well worth the wait.
